The Sree Rama Rajya Ratha Yatra was started by H.H. Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswathiji Maharaj in 1991. He was the founder of Sree Rama Dasa Mission and member of Rama Janmabhoomi Nyas Manch and Kendriya Marg Darshak Mandal. He attained Mahasamadhi in 2006. The Rama Ratha Yatra has covered the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Maharasthra for the last 27 years. Now, in 2018, we want to expand its scope from Ayodhya to Rameshwaram. It will cover more than 6000 kms. and six states, over a period of 41 days, upto Rameshwaram and further to Kanyakumari before ending at Sree Rama Dasa Ashram in Thiruvananthapuram. As you know the peculiar and difficult situation in Kerala we are giving more stress in that state and are visiting every district over there. Everyday the Rath Yatra will culminate in a Shobha Yatra followed by Rama Rajya Hindu Mahasammelan (public gathering).
The Sree Rama Ratham is a moving temple. It will be constructed according to the model of the Sree Rama Temple to be built at Sree Rama Janmabhoomi. It contains the Vigraha of Sree Rama-Sita-Anjaneya, Rama Padukas brought from Nandigram, Sita Chudamani brought from Sri Lanka, Dhwajam from Rameshwaram & Akhanda Jyothi from Mookambika Devi Temple, Kollur, Karnataka.
At various stops along the route speakers, including sants, sanyasins, political leaders, leaders of Hindu organizations, eminent personalities, etc., will address the gathered public on spiritual, social and current topics to rouse in them Bhakti for the nation and for the Bharatiya Culture. Our five major slogans will be:-
- Establishment of Rama Rajya.
- Construction of Rama Temple at Rama Janmabhoomi.
- Including Ramayana in educational syllabus.
- Declaring Thursday as a National weekly Holiday (instead of Sunday)
- Declaring a World Hindu Day.
We will collect 10 lakh signatures of the public and 5,000 signatures of Sanyasis on this five point agenda and submit it to the Hon. Prime Minister and His Excellency the President of India, at the end of the Rath Yatra.
The Rama Rajya Rath Yatra will be conducted by Sree Rama Dasa Mission Universal Society under the leadreship of its National President, H. H. Swami Krishnananda Saraswathiji and National General Secretary, H. H. Sreesakthi Saanthananda Maharshi. It will be with the cooperation of all Hindu organizations. The Hon. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathji will be inaugurate the Ram Rajya Rath Yatra at Kaarsevakpuram, Ayodhya on 13th February 2018 (Sivaratri day).
